farewell to childhood. He's moving on!

It's happened. My baby grew up.

And today was the very last brown-bag school lunch I'll ever make for him.

It's a bittersweet day. Our boy is on the precipice of big life...

It's been my pleasure, lovingly preparing all those lunches.

Because that's how a mother shows her love for her boy...through his stomach.
On the other hand, I won't miss ironing white shirts and navy-blue slacks...

Or hunting the ever-elusive and recluse navy-blue tie...

The Sperries were cute...those suckers look good with everything!

This is the final week...of school and of tests.

It's been a great ride.

Excuse me while I go bury my face in my pillow and cry myself to sleep...

Patti, that's beautiful! I love how you pause to reflect on the milestones in life. This is an especially big one for you. Hasn't it all been the greatest blessing? Don't thnk of it as being "all over"--you're just turning the page and starting a new chapter!

What a lovely post, Patti. All these new chapters in our lives - they're continual aren't they?

I'm hoping you'll remember me. Karen. We met at the now sadly closed Olde Green Cupboard. Another ending. I'm looking for that next door to open for they say that's how it works. Right? One door closes, another opens.

Reaching out in friendship, *karendianne.
